The term 'assassin' comes from the Arabic ... hashashin ... a word given to the followers of Hasn-e-Sabbah, the head of a secret Persian (Iranian) sect of Ismailites ... who in the 11th century would get stoned on hashish before murdering opponents ... opponents being fellow Muslims of another line of faith or 'the infidel' ...
It is of interest that the first assassination in the historical record is that of King Eglon by Ehud ben Gera in 1300 BC. It is of more interest that Eglon was the King of Moab ...
So ... the first assassination of record occurred in a place called Moab ... so let me say that assassination and Moab are associated .. now let's follow this ... John F. Kennedy passed through Moab two weeks before he died ... Lincoln's assassin passed through Moab a few weeks before he killed Lincoln ...
OK .. let's test this ... and let's use Martin Luther King .. who was clearly assassinated ... in 1966 James Earl Ray was on the run ... escaping from prison he first went to Canada and then to Mexico ... on his way to Mexico ... and to keep off the beaten path he passed through Utah and stayed in Moab for a while ...
We now have a connection between Moab and assassinations ... can this be extended further to others ... I will get to that in the near future ...

One other thing ... when King Eglon was killed his successor was ... Joseph ben Yonatan ... or today we would say Joe Johnson ....

John Kennedy ... Lyndon Johnson
Martin Luther King .. Jesse Jackson ... but Jack is the familiar of John ( Jack Kennedy) .. so another Johnson ...
And even though we haven't got there yet ...
John Lennon ... Yoko Ono .. well not quite .. it is really Sean who is .... John's son ... and if I am pressed on this ... Julian's first name is John ... and of course Sean is the the Irish variant of John ... so it is John's sons Johnson ...
Well now ... it seems that things that seem so at odds might be connected ... more connected than you even want to know ... it gets more interesting still ...
